Kids Under Cover Secures $20M to Expand Innovative Youth Homelessness Prevention Solutions

Kids Under Cover is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised $20,000,000 to further advance our mission of preventing youth homelessness through innovative early intervention strategies. Since 1989, our not-for-profit organization has been dedicated to offering vulnerable young people aged 12 to 25 the support they need during times of extreme family strife or economic hardship. Our unique model combines the building of one or two-bedroom studio units in family backyards with scholarships that help ensure young people remain connected to education and job training. This fresh wave of funding will propel the development and expansion of our Studio Program, allowing us to provide stable, secure accommodation that keeps young people within the vital support network of their families while also offering essential financial backing for their future educational and employment opportunities. This significant investment reaffirms our commitment to the belief that prevention is better than cure—addressing the root causes of youth homelessness before they escalate into a crisis. With this new capital, Kids Under Cover will accelerate its efforts to mitigate risks associated with extreme conflict, mental health issues, and the housing affordability crisis that endangers so many young lives. The funds will directly support the construction of secure studio apartments, further scholarships, and complementary services to enhance our early intervention model.
