Empowering Young Voices: Will Garvey Trust Foundation Raises $3,500 to Build Suicide-Safe, Talking Communities

We are thrilled to announce that the Will Garvey Trust Foundation has successfully raised £3,500 in its latest funding initiative—a significant milestone that reaffirms our commitment to preventing further tragedies of suicide and loss. Founded in memory of Will Garvey, whose life was cut tragically short at the age of 20, our organization exists because we believe that no-one should have to endure the pain of losing a loved one to suicide. Our core mission is encapsulated in our mantra, “W.T.F. – Why Talking Fixes,” which underlines our belief in the power of dialogue to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. This fresh infusion of funds is dedicated to expanding our community outreach and support programs specifically tailored to young people aged 13-25—a demographic that is often at a critical juncture in life and disproportionately affected by mental health challenges. The additional resources will allow us to further develop educational workshops, peer support networks, and accessible resource centers that not only foster open conversations about mental health but also provide practical tools and safe spaces for young individuals and their support communities. We firmly believe that by encouraging open dialogue and providing structured support, we can help avert the devastation of another family lost to the tragedy of suicide.
