We are excited to announce that Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC) has successfully raised KES 1,400,000,000 in its latest funding round, marking an important milestone in our mission to enhance access to affordable housing for Kenyans. Established in April 2018 as a Public-Private Partnership under the supervision of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), KMRC has been steadfast in its commitment to provide long-term, low-interest, fixed-rate finance to primary mortgage lenders such as banks, microfinance institutions, and SACCOs. This substantial funding injection reinforces our role as a wholesale institution, enabling us to supply the much-needed capital to these entities, which in turn helps increase the availability and affordability of home loans for individual borrowers. The funds raised will be strategically deployed to bolster our initiatives, including the issuance of KMRC bonds, which further contributes to the sustainable growth of Kenyan capital markets.
