We are excited to announce that Georgia Transmission Corporation has successfully raised $97,910,000 in funding to advance our commitment to delivering safe, secure, reliable, and affordable electricity to more than 4.5 million Georgians every day. As a dedicated not-for-profit electric cooperative, Georgia Transmission is at the heart of powering local communities by planning, building, and maintaining over 5,000 miles of high-voltage power lines and more than 780 substations that serve 38 member-owned Electric Membership Cooperatives (EMCs) across the state. This significant investment will bolster our ongoing efforts to modernize and expand our robust infrastructure, ensuring we not only meet today’s energy demands but also are fully prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. The funds will be strategically allocated to upgrade critical network components, enhance system resilience, and integrate innovative grid technologies that are essential for supporting future growth and accommodating renewable energy initiatives.
